How you will make an Impact (Job Summary) SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. The Senior Manager, Construction - Xcel provides strategic and operational leadership for the Open Shop (Xcel) construction organization supporting SPX Cooling Tech's Field Erected Products business. This role is fully accountable for construction performance from project pursuit through execution and closeout, ensuring safe, predictable, and profitable delivery of new and refurbished cooling tower projects. The Sr Manager partners closely with Sales, Engineering, Estimating, Supply Chain, and Proposal Management to align construction strategy, labor plans, schedules, cost assumptions, and risk mitigation during bidding and pre-construction, ensuring commitments made during pursuit are successfully executed in the field. The role drives operational excellence by maintaining accountability for safety, labor productivity, schedule adherence, cost control, and margin performance, while promoting Lean principles and continuous improvement. A key focus is building and developing a high-performing construction leadership team and fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration. The ideal candidate brings significant industrial construction leadership experience-preferably within field-erected cooling towers-and the business judgment required to deliver results in a dynamic, customer-focused environment. This role encourages innovation and continuously improves efficiency of technical support, monitors advances of technology and competition, and supports global and acquisition-related technical issues in areas of expertise.
