Snowflake is about empowering enterprises to achieve their full potential - and people too. With a culture that's all in on impact, innovation, and collaboration, Snowflake is the sweet spot for building big, moving fast, and taking technology - and careers - to the next level.

Join Snowflake and help shape the future of global privacy and data compliance. Snowflake is seeking an experienced privacy and data compliance attorney to be a core member of our Legal Privacy & Data Compliance team, working closely with partners across Legal, Product, Engineering, Security, Compliance, and Go-to-Market organizations. In this role, you won't work in isolation-you will collaborate deeply with diverse teams to build practical, scalable privacy and data compliant solutions that enable innovation while protecting our customers and earning their trust.

This role is ideal for a collaborative, solutions-oriented professional who enjoys working as part of a high-performing team, values shared ownership and knows how to influence without authority. You will contribute to shaping Snowflake's global privacy and data compliance strategy while partnering with stakeholders to turn complex regulatory requirements into clear guidance and actionable processes.

You will thrive here if you enjoy balancing independent leadership with teamwork, driving initiatives forward while actively listening, sharing context, and building alignment across functions. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, as you will regularly engage with colleagues at all levels to explain nuanced privacy and data compliance concepts and support informed decision-making.

Reporting to the Head of Privacy & Data Compliance, your work will span global privacy and data compliance programs, including GDPR, global cookie compliance, EU Data Act, EU Digital Services Act and related regulated frameworks, as well as supporting Snowflake's global privacy reporting obligations. Throughout, you will be part of a supportive, inclusive team that values trust, partnership, and continuous improvement.

This is a hybrid role based in our Dublin (CA), Menlo Park (CA), or Bellevue (WA) offices.

Responsibilities
  • Provide practical legal guidance on privacy and data compliance requirements for new and emerging technologies.

  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Security, Compliance and Go-To-Market teams to embed privacy-by-design into products and processes.

  • Support and help scale Snowflake's global privacy and data compliance programs, including GDPR and other evolving regulatory frameworks.

  • Translate complex legal and regulatory requirements into clear, actionable guidance for technical and business stakeholders.

  • Identify, assess and mitigate privacy and data protection risks while enabling business objectives.

  • Contribute to global privacy reporting, documentation, and regulatory readiness efforts.

  • Collaborate closely with Legal and Privacy team members, sharing knowledge and supporting a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.

  • Develop and automate processes to scale efficiencies and compliance controls

  • Develop and iterate on privacy-related notices, policies, procedures, and guidelines.

  • Assist corporate, product, and marketing teams with developing marketing collateral to tell our privacy and data compliance story.

  • Research and evaluate the applicability and impact of global privacy and data compliance laws, legislation and regulatory guidance.

Requirements:
  • 3-5 years of substantive privacy and data compliance legal experience, preferably both in-house and at a law firm

  • Experience with EU and international privacy and data compliance laws, regulations and standards

  • Experience with US State and Federal privacy and data compliance laws and regulations

  • JD from an accredited law school, membership in at least one state bar, and the ability to practice in the jurisdiction in which this position is located

  • Ability to pragmatically weigh the risks and benefits of complex situations

  • Willing to take on new challenges and learn new technologies

  • A good sense of humor and passionate about privacy and data compliance

Snowflake is growing fast, and we're scaling our team to help enable and accelerate our growth. We are looking for people who share our values, challenge ordinary thinking, and push the pace of innovation while building a future for themselves and Snowflake.
