Nationality Requirements

Position Summary

Provides support and technical assistance with various products or equipment. Installs, troubleshoots, and provides routine maintenance to products/equipment to ensure proper function and maximize uptime. Typically reports to a manager. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.

Job Description

We are seeking a talented and motivated Product Support professional to be part of our Product Support team addressing Fleet needs.

The Product Support Engineer will be responsible for assisting, performing, defining, developing, implementing and managing all electronic and technical documentation and analysis in support of ILS efforts for Ultra Maritime programs/systems. This role with work closely with Systems, Software, RF, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineers to support programs through all phases of the life cycle. This will include developing training curriculum, training sailors, development of interactive and electronic technical manuals, writing operation and maintenance procedures, and analyzing systems and components for integrated logistics support. The candidate must have a strong technical writing and product support background combined with the ability to work independently and as a member of a team. When possible, the candidate will have experience with Navy Radar, ASW, Anti Torpedo, Sonar or Towed Array systems.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Experience working with shipboard, shipyard, OSIC, and AIT.
  • Navy trainer experience (Podium, Curriculum Development)
  • Developing Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) and Computer-Based Training (CBT)
  • Develop and Maintenance of Navy Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM)
  • Performing reliability engineering
  • Conducting Logistics Support Analysis (LSA)
  • Supporting Life Cycle Cost Analysis
  • Generating technical provisioning data
  • Ensuring fleet support to fielded systems

Required Skills:

  • Ability to obtain a US Government security clearance.Security clearances are granted to U.S. citizens.
  • 6+ years of logistics engineering and technical writing experience with DoD systems
  • High School Diploma

Desired Skills:

  • BS degree in Engineering or related field of study is preferred
  • Shipboard system trouble shooting and technical support experience
  • Excellent communications skills and the ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to interface with development Engineers to ensure supportability is designed into the equipment
  • Familiarity with the Navy operations and support environment
  • Experience with Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) and Computer-Based Training (CBT) product development and validation
  • Experience determining maintenance concepts, performing task analysis, and documenting results in a MIL-STD-1388 LSA database
  • Experience generating MIL-PRF-49506 Logistics Management Information (LMI), MIL-STD-1388 Logistics Support Analysis (LSA) or GEIA-STD-0007 Logistics Product Data (LPD)
  • Experience developing Reliability Block Diagrams and Operational Availability estimates and performing Reliability, Maintainability and Availability (RM&A) studies including Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Built-in Test (BIT) Analysis and Maintainability Predictions
  • Familiarity with GEIA-STD-0007b and LPD software products, such as SLICWAVE, EAGLE, PowerLOG, and Relex reliability software
