Overview

The Commissioning Agent is responsible for monitoring field related activities to insure design intent, budget and schedule are maintained. Responsible for coordinating and implementing construction and engineering specifications, while overseeing construction activities to completion. As an important team member, the Commissioning Agent must be able to manage multiple activities, familiarizes themselves with the project specifications and scope documents, drawings, etc. The Commissioning Agent will be involved in supporting the execution of the operational readiness program and assisting with the safe testing and takeover from the contactor.

Responsibilities

    Actively promotes safe working practices along with human performance improvement (HPI) daily.
  • Leads and/or participates on completing Job Hazard Analysis with assigned team each workday.
  • Review and proper implementation of Contractor safe working practices
  • Code and Standards review and construction adherence to: (NEC, AWS, ACI, NETA, IEEE, NFPA 70E, OSHA, 10-CFR-1920, etc.)
  • Understanding constructability necessary construction plans or job scope
  • Review contract to ensure deliverables are in compliance
  • Monitor equipment calibration and ensure NIST standards adherence
  • Provide review and input as needed of updated drawings, red line and As-Built validation *
  • Support the Development and implementation of the owners L3, and L4 construction instructions and inspections.
  • Inventory and monitor contractors' equipment and materials to include preservation and warrantee issues
  • Review tool and equipment requirements for all electrical work packages are in compliance with specifications
  • Support good construction and engineering practices
  • Review and ensure completeness of Equipment Vendor L2 (FAT) documentation.
  • Plan and coordinate equipment installation inspections.
  • Notify owner of any field or construction anomalies that would affect the final end product being, constructed, tested or placed into operations
  • Audit equipment storage and laydown yard activities.
  • Generate weekly progress reports for all switchyard installation and testing activities.
  • Support the Preparation of site switching plans.
  • Coordinate switchyard energization and switching activities
  • Accurately documenting and submitting test reports used for client reporting and regulatory purposes.
  • Accurately completes time and expense reports along with maintaining good condition of assigned company vehicle.


Qualifications

  • Experienced in using software - CXalloy and Procore
  • Experienced in developing detailed commissioning test plans.
  • Strong understanding of safe work practices and human performance improvement
  • Ability to travel 20-30%
