The UC San Diego Health Fire Marshal manages the Fire and Life Safety Program for UC San Diego Health Medical Centers and offsite ambulatory clinics. Under the general direction of the Senior Director for Environmental Health & Safety and Emergency Management, the Fire Marshal develops and maintains a fire and life safety program to meet the requirements of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Office of the State Fire Marshal (OSFM) and The Regents of the University of California (UC). Through the MOU, the Fire Marshal is responsible for compliance with fire and life safety regulations to include construction inspections (Title 24) and fire and life safety inspections (Title 19) to ensure compliance with applicable laws, codes, regulations, standards, specifications and policies. Conducts construction plan review, fire alarm plan review, and fire sprinkler plan review. Meets regularly with architects, designers, and staff during phases of construction or tenant improvement to ensure compliance. Designs and implements an effective fire prevention plan, fire response plan, interim life safety measures, and hot permit process. Educates staff and proactively assesses compliance. Responsible for compliance with physical environment standards (life safety safety & environment of care), and fire drill compliance under Joint Commission. Responsible for the direct supervision of UC San Diego Health Assistant Fire Marshals. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $108,100 - $204,900 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $51.77 - $98.13 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable). | |
