Position Overview

The Product Owner of Contract Modeling is a leader for the product team that drives product innovation, evolution and refinement. You will be responsible for the Benchmark/Contract Modeling product including driving your product roadmap initiatives, and ensuring other departments and partners have a clear understanding of the Benchmark/Contract Modeling product. You will work with product team peers to help manage and run product planning processes and ensure that strategic goals and priorities are aligned across the organization.

To achieve this, you will gather requirements through market in research, client feedback and internal collaboration to drive the product roadmap and priorities. All of this is in the service of providing scalable reliability for the product portfolio and tied to our growth goals as a division.

What you'll do:

  • Participate in the Product Manager Program for Benchmark/Contract Modeling
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for product and provide support where needed including sales, client facing teams and clients.
  • Create/translating the business needs into User Stories which the Agile team can understand and work from.
  • Apply the concepts of Minimum Viable Product (MVP), to shape "what to work on next."
  • Take the initiative and make decisions, to keep the team moving forward.
  • Maintaining the product backlog - With input from System Architect/Engineering and other stakeholders, the Product Owner has the primary responsibility for building, editing, and maintaining the team backlog.
  • Sprint Planning - The Product Owner reviews and reprioritizes the backlog as part of the prep work for Sprint Planning and communicates story detail and priorities and ensures the team aligns and agrees on a final Sprint plan.
  • Just-in-time story elaboration - Most backlog items are elaborated into user stories and acceptance criteria for implementation. The Product Owner should be able to write user stories or help guide others with this task.
  • Accepting stories - The Product Owner works with the team to agree on accepted story completion. This includes validating that the story meets acceptance criteria, its Definition of Done (DoD), etc.
  • Understand enabler work - While Product Owners are not expected to drive technological decisions, they should be able to understand and document the scope of the upcoming enabler work in collaboration with System and Solution Architect/Engineering
  • Participate in team demo and retrospective - Product Owner collaborates with their team and any other stakeholders in the team demo and Sprint Retrospective
  • Prepare and communicate product/program level status reporting and metrics to key constituents, stakeholders, and executive team; produce product related reports and/or dashboards.
  • Possess the ability take complex concepts and/or designs and distill them down to an easily digestible presentation for appropriate audience.
  • Work with Product Leadership to ensure process, procedures, and tools for the execution of the Product roadmap are effective and efficient.
  • Support launch and delivery activities of new products and releases.
  • Continuous improvement and refinement on tests based on pre-production validation, post-production results and feedback from other groups (Configuration Department, Research Department and Operations teams) as needed.
  • Participate in Incident Management, Problem Management, and Continual Service Improvement activities as needed.
  • Keep abreast of issues to identify enhancements and process improvement opportunities.
  • Actively contribute innovative ideas and support ad hoc projects, including time-sensitive requests.
  • Accurately scopes out projects, sets objectives, and goals, develops schedules, measures performance against goals, and evaluates results.
  • Ensure adherence to quality assurance guidelines.
  • Maintains awareness of and ensure adherence to ZELIS standards regarding privacy.

What you'll bring to Zelis:

  • 5+ years of product management or product delivery experience
  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred in business, healthcare, or technology
  • Pragmatic Marketing certifications preferred
  • Healthcare experience preferred
  • Agile software development methodology experience
  • Creative problem-solving skills, leveraging insights and input from other parts of an organization
  • Proficient in tools such as Tableau, SIGMA and Microsoft Suite
  • Experience with the Altassian suite of products (Jira, Confluence, etc.) and/or Product Board is a plus.
  • Financial modeling and strong analytic skills
  • Ability to think and act strategically, and as well as execute tactically with bias toward action.
  • Consistently demonstrate ability to act and react swiftly to continuous challenges and changes.
  • Excellent analytical skills with data and analytics related solutions
  • Strong organization and project / process management skills
  • Good negotiation, problem solving, planning and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage projects simultaneously and achieve goals.

Location and Workplace Flexibility

We have offices in Atlanta GA, Boston MA, Morristown NJ, Plano TX, St. Louis MO, St. Petersburg FL, and Hyderabad, India. We foster a hybrid and remote friendly culture, and all our employee's work locations are based on the needs of the position and determined by the Leadership team. In-office work and activities, if applicable, vary based on the work and team objectives in accordance with Company policies.

Base Salary Range

$71,000.00 - $95,000.00

At Zelis we are committed to providing fair and equitable compensation packages. The base salary range allows us to make an offer that considers multiple individualized factors, including experience, education, qualifications, as well as job-related and industry-related knowledge and skills, etc. Base pay is just one part of our Total Rewards package, which may also include discretionary bonus plans, commissions, or other incentives depending on the role.
