Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Audio/Video Installation Technician to perform residential installation, service, and support of home automation, audio/visual, networking, and security systems. This role requires strong technical expertise, professionalism, and the ability to deliver high-quality service to residential clients. The technician will work independently and collaboratively to complete installations, troubleshoot system issues, and educate homeowners on system operation. Job Responsibilities

Perform installation, service, and activation of residential security systems, surround sound systems, speakers, televisions, remote controls, and automation systems utilizing Control4 products and lighting

Install and support residential home automation systems for audio/visual and security applications

Configure and support networking components including routers, switches, DVRs, wireless access points, and related devices

Troubleshoot and repair system issues, including wiring for phone, data, intercom, security, wireless access points, cameras, and basic audio systems

Review work orders with customers and communicate job details clearly and professionally

Train homeowners on system functionality, operation, and advanced monitoring solutions
-
Assess existing systems and ensure proper integration when adding or modifying components

Perform trim-out and related technician duties as required
-
Participate in after-hours emergency service call rotation as needed

Maintain quality workmanship while meeting project timelines

Perform additional duties as assigned
Job Requirements

Minimum of three years of experience with residential security and AV system installations

Working knowledge of Control4 automation systems; associate installer or automation programming certification preferred

Strong understanding of cable types, technologies, and proper selection for installation needs

Proficiency in residential networking setup and configuration

Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines

Strong customer service and communication skills

Ability to work effectively under pressure

Ownership of, or willingness to obtain, required basic hand and installation tools

Ability to pass a background check, drug screening, and motor vehicle record review

Technical or vocational training preferred
Education

High school diploma or equivalent required

Technical or vocational education in electronics, networking, or related fields preferred
