The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $84.78 - $109.85 (Hourly Rate).

Department Description

The 66-bed Adult Hematology / Oncology / Blood and Marrow Transplant (BMT) / Cellular Therapy Unit is a fast-paced, highly specialized unit located on the eleventh floor of the of Long Hospital and the twelfth floor if the hospital. Staff provide exceptional patient centered care to acutely and chronically ill adults with complex hematological and oncological diagnoses. Nurses are highly trained to provide multiple treatment modalities, such as chemotherapy, radiation therapy, peripheral blood/bone marrow transplants, and cellular immunotherapy. The staff excels in symptom management and provides compassionate care to patients throughout the various stages of their treatment and recovery. Nurses are also trained to support Phase I-III clinical research activities on the unit to further develop cutting edge treatment and care. Professional development of the staff is supported through participation in classes, seminars, and conferences as well as unit councils, quality improvement projects, and community activities.

Required Qualifications


  • Minimum one year recent clinical RN experience in at least one of the following areas:
    • Adult inpatient oncology
    • Adult outpatient infusion clinic
    • Adult transitional or critical care unit
  • The flexibility to orient and work in all UCSF Health locations

Preferred Qualifications


  • Telemetry monitoring experience
  • Registered nurse experience in an acute care Hematology/Oncology/BMT unit
  • Previous clinical RN experience in an academic medical center
  • BSN

License/Certification


  • Active Registered Nurse licensure in the State of California
  • Active American Heart Association CPR Certification
  • Active American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification
  • Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Certificate
