Job Description

Skilled work on a journeymen level in the HVAC field involving the installation, repair and maintenance of HVAC systems. All work is subject to spot checking and inspection for conformance to specification and accepted standards of the trade.

  • Maintain all HVAC systems, installation of split systems, and technical troubleshooting skills are required
  • Maintaining and installing refrigeration systems campus wide including ice machines and freezers; Clean and safely operate and properly store tools and equipment
  • Repairing and servicing food service equipment to ensure reliability of services
  • May perform or assist with preparation of cost estimates, material orders, reports and maintenance records; Read blueprints, plan drawing, and writing drawing in order to complete assignments
  • Must maintain, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on heating and cooling pumps, motors, fans, coils, and condensate drains
Shift

Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm

Minimum Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is necessary.
  • Five years actual work experience and training, including the equivalent of apprenticeship or vocational training, in the trade.
  • Ability to read blueprints, plans, drawings, and wiring diagrams.
  • Skill in maintenance and use of tools, equipment and materials of applicable trade.
  • Ability on a daily basis to:
    • Grasp, lift, maneuver, rotate, and otherwise use small to large trades tools and equipment
    • Grasp, lift, carry, and set down heavy objects (50-80 lbs.)
    • Grasp, turn, twist, pull, push, lift, and otherwise move equipment, controls, parts, etc. Visually assess maintenance, construction and repair needs
    • Climb and work from ladders, stairs, and scaffolding
  • A valid driver's license may be required.
  • Universal 608 refrigerant recycling, 609 federal clean air act, OSHA 10, NFPA 70E training
Anticipated Hiring Range

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $20.49-$27.48 hourly.

Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
