What to Expect This position will join the Quality Engineering Team at Gigafactory New York. The primary objective is to support the manufacturing of high-quality residential and commercialelectronics,electric vehicle charging systems. The successful candidate for this position must be a problem-solver and demonstrated leader, have a strong quality & customer-focused mindset, and have the personal drive and stamina for relentless, continuous improvement. What You'll Do Create and maintain PFMEAs todeterminepotential risks in manufacturing process and drive resolution of high-risk issues into process controls Establish andmaintainControl Plans toensurecritical features are controlled andmonitoredthrough the assembly/production processes Establish criteria for Part Inspection Standards based on product specification and process critical requirements Develop and implement Quality Key Points for visual inspection that meets product specificationsusedin process inspections and quality audits Create schedule for regular audits and inspections to be performed by quality technicians across all product lines Review and provide disposition to non-conforming material and perform mechanical and electrical failure analysis on components and assemblies Lead containment activity on non-conforming material by determiningappropriate suspectrange to quarantine and provide disposition of material Track qualityperformance metrics from technician audits and organize regular reviews with all cross-functional stakeholders; prioritize top issues and drive continuous improvement activities Manage and improve ESD program for the site What You'll Bring Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Physics, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and implement changes Experience conducting PFMEAs for production processes Experience with broad variety of measurement and inspection techniques Experience in 6-Sigma Specific training anddemonstratedsuccess in applying quality problem solving methods, such as fishbone diagrams and/or 8D, and implementing successful countermeasures Strong quantitative and data analysis skills, including process capability analysis, hypothesis testing, DoE, SPC, and similar Experience in ISO-9001, QS-9000, ISO/TS/IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP is a plus Proficiencyin SQL, R, Minitab (or similar) is a plus Experience with power electronics is a plus Compensation and Benefits Benefits Along with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire: Medical plans > plan options with $0 payroll deduction Family-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefits Dental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans, both have options with a $0 paycheck contribution Company Paid (Health Savings Accounts) HSA Contribution when enrolled in the High-Deductible medical plan with HSA Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) 401(k) with employer match, Employee Stock Purchase Plans, and other financial benefits Company paid Basic Life, AD&D Short-term and long-term disability insurance (90 day waiting period) Employee Assistance Program Sick and Vacation time (Flex time for salary positions, Accrued hours for Hourly positions), and Paid Holidays Back-up childcare and parenting support resources Voluntary benefits to include: critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, theft & legal services, and pet insurance Weight Loss and Tobacco Cessation Programs Tesla Babies program Commuter benefits Employee discounts and perks program Expected Compensation Associate QA Engineer - $64,800 - $97,200/annual salary QA Engineer - $79,200 - $118,800/annual salary Sr QA Engineer - $97,200 - $145,800/annual salary Staff QA Engineer - $115,200 - $172,800/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits for all levels Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
