Introduction to the Job

ASML US, including its affiliates and subsidiaries, bring together the most creative minds in science and technology to develop lithography machines that are key to producing faster, cheaper, more energy-efficient microchips. Our headquarters are in Veldhoven, Netherlands and we have 18 office locations around the United States including main offices inChandler, Arizona, San Jose and San Diego, California, Wilton, Connecticut, and Hillsboro, Oregon.

As a Lean Deployment Lead you will be responsible to lead part of the Lean cultural transformation within Wilton Factory, with a focus on embedding Lean principles and philosophy where people are engaged to improve processes continuously to boost business impact as part of their DNA. You will support and guide teams and leaders with implementing the daily management system, coach them in developing problem solving techniques and Lean leaders behavior. Together with line management for the part of the factory you support, you will be the trusted coach and you will help them build the internal capabilities to improve processes and results by cross functional teams on a daily basis. You act as a role model for the lean way of working and respectfully challenge the status quo. You will guide the management team though and take ownership for the "FLOW" deployment playbook, a proven transformation approach across multiple industries.

The activities require cooperation and coordination within the Lean team and adjacent functional/operational disciplines in the playbook deployment, for which thorough understanding of interfaces with other disciplines/parties is needed.

Role and Responsibilities

In alignment with the accountable business manager, as a transformation lead you will:

  • Set and agree to deployment goals
  • Co-design the deployment plan
  • Co-drive the deployment plan
  • Lead without authority
  • Challenge the change curve
  • Define success criteria, roles and responsibilities
  • Challenge progress regularly with your stakeholders
  • Coach and develop the leadership team
  • Be role model in adapting Lean principles and coach on Lean behavior
  • Support business impact initiatives (e.g. A3's, 4C's, Breakthrough Initiatives, etc.)

As a Lean team member, you will:

  • Share and inform the team about deployment progress, bottle-necks and help requests
  • Support your colleagues pro-actively in the deployment or building each other's expertise
  • Pull in your colleagues from Lean or other functions to help drive the transformation and assure their involvement
  • Contribute to improvements to the ASML Lean standards
  • Challenge your colleagues adapting the Lean principles in our own team
  • Improve our daily operations and participates in strategic steps
  • Be a partner towards the business in driving for Lean improvements
  • Up to 10% travel annually within the US and internationally

Education and Experience

As a Lean Deployment Lead you will need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in Manufacturing, Engineering or Supply Chain environment, preferably with line management experience (e.g. team lead, group lead, etc.)
  • 3+ years of experience training, coaching, deploying and applying lean in Manufacturing and/or a Logistics environment in a company wide transformation
  • 3+ years of experience with Basic project management skills
  • Expert knowledge of lean transformation, process improvement and quality management tools
  • Practical application of problem-solving methodologies (e.g. Lean A3, Six Sigma tools, etc.)
  • Experience in Hoshin Kanri (Strategy Deployment) and VSM (Value Stream Mapping) would be a plus
  • Proven experience in change management

Other Information

  • This position is located on-site in Wilton, Connecticut. It requires onsite presence to attend in-person work-related events, trainings and meetings and to further ensure teamwork, collaboration and innovation

This position may require access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. * 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require the Company to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.

Additional Responsibilities:

There is potential for exposure to strong magnetic fields, high voltage and currents.
