As an Assembly Operator you will develop and deliver programs to train and ensure competency of channel personnel, Baker Hughes employees, and customers (end users) on the assembly, testing and servicing of Flow Control & Safety Solutions products.

As an Assembly Operator, you will be responsible for:

  • Set up and installation of generator rotors, including 2-pole and 4-pole rotor preparations, as well as installation of fans, ventilation rings, slip rings, and exciter assemblies.

  • Executing preparatory activities such as cleaning threads and contact surfaces, assembling internal components, bearing shields, exciter units, noise barriers, coolers, and mechanical parts of generators.

  • Performing dimensional measurements and electrical insulation resistance tests during assembly, ensuring proper alignment and operation of oil and water distribution systems within the test room.

  • Assembling and securing special components such as rotor couplings and fan blades, while adhering to work, health and safety, and quality procedures, including environmental protection standards.

  • Handling installation and maintenance tasks in balancing tunnels, ensuring correct seating in bearings, connection to drives, and pre-balancing procedures.

  • Preparing the workplace efficiently and comply with regulatory standards throughout all assembly and testing operations.

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings

  • Attention to detail and diligence with an eye for quality

  • Hold a valid Passport and the ability to travel internationally

  • Have good interpersonal skills, inclusive working style and able to effectively communicate

Desirable skills/experience

  • Knowledge of Power Generation / Rotating equipment

  • Have a High School Diploma, GED or Vocational qualification in a mechanical or electrical discipline

  • Have experience in mechanical assembly with basic electrical experience and training

* Two-shift schedules, including rotational night shifts

Comprehensive training for this role will be conducted in Pilsen, Czech Republic, lasting six weeks. There will be a requirement to travel to Pilsen for two weeks each month over a period of three months.
