Overview

This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit's Commercial Business Units ("Spirit Commercial"). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing's three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial's core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions.


Responsibilities

Location: Wichita, KS (On-site)

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Spirit engineers on assignment
  • Interface with the customers on SOW, schedule, and deliverables
  • Support daily meeting with customer and provides briefing to Program Leader
  • Manage day to day engineering work activities and team priorities
  • Drive implementation of program standards and best practices
  • Assure program quality, schedule, delivery, and safety goals are met
  • Knowledge of engineering change and configuration management
  • Collaboration with the onsite operations teams including mechanics and quality inspectors
  • Estimating, scheduling, resource planning and Basis of Estimate

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited Program
  • 5+ years' experience in an engineering or technical role

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years' experience in a management and/or technical leadership role
  • Excellent interpersonal skills working cross functionally across teams
  • Analytical, demonstrated ability to deconstruct requirements and prioritize accordingly
  • Strong leadership skills & the ability to motivate and hold people accountable
  • Keen eye for details and a focus on continuous process improvement
  • Exceptional time management skills

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary Pay Range: $109,125 - $167,325
