Goldbelt Nighthawk develops and implements comprehensive solutions for problem spaces including computer security, Cloud implementations and migration, scalable architectures, advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, and network/data center operations. Specializing in incident response at the local and enterprise-wide levels as well as forensic analysis, our personnel deliver threat analysis and reporting while implementing solutions based on mature planning and development practices.

Summary:

Goldbelt Nighthawk is hiring a Cloud Solutions Architect to support a long-term contract in Mechanicsburg, PA. The selected Cloud Solutions Architect will provide support and mentorship in the sustainment of an AWS-centric cloud brokerate, and will need strong experience with networking, DevSecOps, IaC, Containerization, Zero Trust, and ideally AI.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide cloud architecture services to a team of contractor and government employees in Secure Computing Architecture and brokerage services
  • Provide leadership/participation in Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) principles in the development of workflows, task accomplishment and implementation/management of cloud services
  • Provide mentorship and training for government personnel as a normal part of daily operations and training, as required
  • Incorporate Security Controls Continuous Monitoring and Risk Management Framework (RMF) NIST SP 800-37, Security Risk Impact Analysis, Monitoring, and Reporting
  • Be cognizant of Vulnerability Management including Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&M) closures
  • Provide guidance on Secure Computing Architecture, Cloud Brokerage Services, Shared Security Services Management, Cloud Security Support Services, Cloud Governance, Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) coordination, Departmental Cloud/Hybrid certification
  • Promote an environment of continuous process improvement, learning and team collaboration

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Excellent customer service, organizational, and technical writing skills
  • Ability to clearly communicate with senior government staff

  • Ability to articulate complex concepts using plain language to maximize understanding at all levels of the organization

  • Ability to de-escalate any technical issues and quickly enable rapid resolution
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with information Security and Assurance Principles and associated supporting technologies
  • Familiarity with commercial, FEDRAMP High/ DoD Impact Level 2, 4, and 5 Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud offerings
  • Familiarity with Web Server, Application Server, and Database components in Oracle and Microsoft toolsets
  • Familiarity with IaC such as AWS CloudFormation, AWS CDK, and Terraform
  • Familiarity with Secure SDLC and CI/CD
  • Familiarity with Networking and related device experience
  • Familiarity with Containerization Orchestration such as ECS and EKS
  • Familiarity with firewall and other security stack tools included in security stack toolsets such as: CISCO Firepower, Juniper SRX VPN and Palo Alto firewalls

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Computing Environment Certification - AWS Certified Solution Architect Associate
  • Information Assurance Technical II (IAT-2) qualification - CompTIA Sec+
  • Successful T5 or T5R investigation for Privileged Access (Top Secret Clearance equivalent eligibility)
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in the following areas:
    • DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF)
    • Federal Enterprise Architecture Framework (FEAF)
    • DoD Authority to Operate (ATO)
    • DoD Zero Trust
    • Proven success with application refactoring
    • Proven success in large. complex, enterprise level cloud environments
    • Network cloud architecture development
    • DoD information system development processes
    • Configuration and change management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AWS Certified Solution Architect Professional

  • AWS Certified Advanced Networking

  • AWS Certified Security

  • Experience in Machine Learning and Generative AI - This will be another big thing this year with NDP rolling out with this in mid-January.

  • Relevant AWS/Azure certification - I don't see a need to include azure. We are locked into AWS and I think we should focus on that.

  • One or more of the following certifications: CAP, CISSP, CISM, GSEC, GCIH, or GSLC

  • Understanding of, and experience with enterprise service migration
