Primary Purpose
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Data Intelligence Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining data warehouse systems, transforming complex data sets into actionable insights, and ensuring that our data infrastructure supports key decision-making processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analytics, experience in data modeling, and proficiency in database management systems. This position plays a critical role in supporting the university's mission by enhancing our data infrastructure to inform strategic decision-making and promote academic excellence.

Essential Functions

  • Assist in designing and developing data warehouse solutions to support analytics needs.
  • Collaborate with team members to gather data requirements for projects.
  • Support the implementation of ETL processes under supervision.
  • Help maintain database structures and optimize performance with guidance.
  • Create simple data models and basic dashboards to visualize metrics.
  • Participate in data quality checks to ensure integrity and accuracy.
  • Troubleshoot basic issues related to data processing and storage.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Basic experience one (1) year in building and managing data warehouses or similar projects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Internship or project experience related to data warehousing or analytics.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data warehouse platforms (e.g., AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery).
  • Exposure to data visualization tools such as Power BI.
  • Basic knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, R).
  • Proficiency in SQL and ETL tools.
  • Familiarity with database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL).
  • Basic understanding of data modeling and integration techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.
  • Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.

Hiring Range $35.00 - $38.50 per hour. We consider factors such as, but not limited to, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's qualifications, internal equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
