Job Description Leads and provides guidance to nuclear medicine technologists. Makes a record of exam produced for interpretation by the radiologist. Job Responsibility * Leads specialized equipment and procedures as well as leads the technologists in performing scans. * Adjusts nuclear equipment to the correct setting for each examination as prescribed by the attending physician. * Handles emergency situations Reviews the processing of nuclear studies. * Prepares and maintains records and files of procedures. * Performs routine Quality Assurance testing * Orders radiological pharmaceuticals. * Follows guidelines set forth by ACR and DOH. * Troubleshoots equipment failure, makes repairs where possible Insures equipment is functioning properly on a continuous basis. * Monitors the level of stock of supplies, as needed. * Provides training and technical direction to lower level technicians and nurses in nuclear procedures and processes. * Performs related duties as required. Job Qualification * Vocational or Technical school Diploma required. * Current License to practice as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist in New York State, * Current ARRT Nuclear registration, * or Current CNMT registration required, plus specialized certifications as needed. * 5-7 years of technical experience and 2 years of leadership / management experience, required.
