JOB SUMMARY

The Safety Support Facilitator is a field-level position responsible for collaborating closely with Line Management to ensure the safe execution of operations. The role involves communicating safety guidelines, evaluating unusual situations, and building strong relationships with various team members. The facilitator is key in ensuring compliance with safety processes, procedures, and laws.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


  • Bachelor's degree in occupational health & safety, environmental science, industrial hygiene, engineering or related field; and
  • 3+ years' experience in oil & gas, construction, or industrial safety roles.
  • 1 year of experience in commercial construction, refining, and pipeline.
  • 1 year of previous supervisory or management experience in safety.

  • Ability to deal factually and accurately with safety-related issues in field execution.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Ensure all employees understand and comply with site safety rules, policies, and applicable laws (OSHA, state, federal, and local).
  • Assist with coordinating and conducting necessary training activities.
  • Assist in conducting accurate investigations of all accidents and incidents, Complete cause maps and 5 why incident reports
  • Assist with the compliance training of new employee orientation as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Permitting policy requirements.
  • Inspect the site for hazardous or unsafe conditions and request necessary corrections by the supervisor in charge.
  • Attend department toolbox safety meetings on a rotating basis (facilitating not required).
  • Provide instruction and guidance regarding safety procedures within assigned work areas.
  • Stop work when imminent danger exists and notify the appropriate field supervisor and Safety & Health Manager.
  • Ensure compliance and awareness of OSHA regulations and site rules.
  • Use available tools to ensure safe practices are being followed.
  • Provide guidance in correcting safety infractions as necessary.
  • Respond to all medical emergencies when requested.
  • Assist the Site Safety and Health Manager in maintaining accurate and complete first aid/safety records.
  • Stay familiar with site conditions and routes of egress.
  • Listen to employee safety and health concerns and take appropriate actions.
  • Attend weekly Supervisor and other relevant meetings.
  • Complete a minimum of 2 JSA audits and 5 safety observations per week.
  • Conduct industrial hygiene monitoring as required.

  • May be required to maintain a valid driver's license.
  • May be required to submit to periodic background checks if position requires access to security sensitive business locations and/or systems.
  • Requires travel: Minimal (up to 10%)
  • Background check, credit check, MVR and drug screen may be required (will vary by position)
