As a Security Officer - Retail Patrol Lead in Edgewater, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol retail and mall locations to help deter security-related incidents and create a welcoming atmosphere for guests and employees. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and provide a visible Allied Universal presence.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas to help to deter theft, vandalism, and/or other prohibited activities.
• Document and report security-related incidents, observations, and/or concerns according to site procedures.
• Assist with access control by verifying credentials of individuals entering restricted areas as required by site policies.
• Support emergency response efforts by following established protocols and coordinating with site management and/or law enforcement as needed.
• Maintain a professional demeanor while interacting with the public, clients, and team members in a retail environment.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 2 years of security-related experience is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A valid guard card or license is preferred.
• Experience in loss prevention is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
