Number of Position(s): 1 Duration: 10 Weeks Date: Jun-Aug, 2026 Location: On-site, in Murray Hill, NJ Education Recommendations: Currently a candidate pursuing a PhD or Master's degree in Computer Science, Communications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with an accredited school in the US. As part of our team, you will: Work with members of the Bell labs Network Architecture Research team Define and implement software that solves cloud and networking problems Implement proof of concept demonstrations Leverage open-source and cloud software solutions Strong programming skills: e.g., Python, C++, and similar Knowledge of communication networks Knowledge of cloud computing, e.g., tools like Kubernetes and Docker Nice to have: Experience with programming switches and network interface cards for custom functionality Experience with training and inference of large language models Knowledge of packet and optical transport networks An understanding of AI/ML methodologies Advancing connectivity to secure a brighter world.
