Job Summary:
Join the dynamic and cutting-edge world of research in emergency medicine as we seek a passionate individual to take on the role of Research Administrator at the vibrant BerbeeWalsh Department of Emergency Medicine (DEM) at the UW School of Medicine and Public Health! Reporting directly to the Associate Department Administrator-Finance, with a matrixed relationship to the Associate Vice Chair of Research, the Research Administrator will be responsible for contributing to the mission of enhancing and facilitating high-impact clinical and translational emergency care research in the department by carrying out pre- and post-award research administration tasks. The pre-award component includes directly working with principal investigators and/or research staff to prepare, route, and submit funding proposals to sponsors. Reviewing, advising, and assisting faculty in developing and submitting grant applications, contract proposals, progress, and final reports. Post-award tasks include directly working with principal investigators and research staff to budget, complete award set-up, monitor expenditures, and reconcile financial data for sponsored programs. This includes processing accounting transactions such as cost transfers, sub award management, and financial projections related to sponsored project management. Furthermore, this role will serve as the unit liaison to internal and external stakeholder groups providing institutional and sponsor information representing the interests of the department and will implement departmental research administration policies and procedures accordingly.

Compensation:The starting salary for the position is $72,000; but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
