In support of Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Nevada, White Pine Innovationsseeks a Data Analyst in Las Vegas, NV to support the Assessment, Inventory, and Monitoring (AIM) project. The Data Analyst will support BLM Nevada in completing land health monitoring by conducting basic data analyses and reporting using AIM data.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:



  • Compile data and generate indicators for land health assessments, analyze data to prioritize and evaluate restoration treatments, assess long-term drought impacts on restoration effects, and more
  • Review and compile of Quality Assurance (QA) / Quality Control (QC) procedures for AIM datasets, provide technical support and training to field staff on data access, usage and interpretation, and work with BLM staff on data management and storage issues for AIM and related datasets, and complete basic analysis and reporting using AIM data as needed for completion of BLM business.
  • Work closely with BLM staff in Nevada to support the AIM program throughout the entire state; coordinate with a variety of BLM staff in Nevada on AIM data management and analysis tasks
  • Attend all necessary AIM trainings
  • Provide monthly quality control of collected AIM data during the field season
  • Conduct basic data analyses of land health using AIM data


Required Qualifications:



  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Biology, Ecology, Natural Resources, Statistics, or related fields
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years specialized experience or related graduate work
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to pass an extremely thorough and lengthy background check.


Desired Skills:



  • Field experience in vegetation/soils sampling, natural resource monitoring, plant identification.
