JOB TITLE: SAP S4HANA Boundary Applications Integration Manager

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA Program Manager to coordinate the integration of SAP S/4HANA with all external "boundary" applications and manage cross-workstream dependencies over the next three years. The role is responsible for end-to-end planning, execution, and risk management of technical integration activities, ensuring that upstream and downstream systems remain aligned with the S/4HANA program's timelines and objectives. Working under the Enterprise PMO and alongside functional workstream leads, this PM will drive cross-functional collaboration, maintain visibility into progress and risks, and enforce rigorous change control to ensure a seamless S/4HANA implementation.

Required Experience:
The ideal candidate has successfully implemented integrations with external and boundary applications in an ECC6 to SAP S/4HANA transformation in a global, highly regulated environment. Proven experience delivering large-scale, cross-functional ERP programs with discipline, urgency, and a focus on measurable business value is essential.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Maintain a comprehensive inventory of all upstream and downstream applications impacted by the S/4HANA implementation and coordinate impact assessments and integration planning with each external application's owners and technical leads to anticipate changes that could affect S/4HANA now or in the near future.
  • Track interface development and testing timelines for all boundary systems, ensuring they stay synchronized with S/4HANA project milestones.
  • Facilitate communication between SAP S/4HANA Business Process Owners (BPOs), technical leads, and the teams managing those external systems to prevent design conflicts.
  • Work closely with S/4HANA functional workstream leads and the SI (System Integrator) to manage sequencing across workstreams.
  • Document and manage risks related to external system dependencies and ECC-S/4HANA overlap, ensuring that any potential conflicts are identified early.
  • Maintain a rigorous RAID log (Risks, Actions, Issues, Decisions) focused on integration risks and blockers.
  • Facilitate communication between Organizational Change Management (OCM) leads, business process owners, and technical teams on all matters of integration and system readiness.
  • Actively involve boundary application teams in cutover planning.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

  • Lead cross-functional collaboration to ensure global alignment and buy-in across the organization
  • Interface with all levels of management to provide strategic and tactical advice on project planning execution, change management and keep leadership well informed.
  • Tracks status and metrics on the project delivery and value; escalates to functional management upon identification of deviations (or potential deviations) from plan and budget.
  • Monitors program progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Resolves and/or escalates program-related issues in a timely fashion.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7+ years of project management experience leading medium to large-scale IT projects. This must include managing integrations of third-party applications with SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA in a complex environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP ECC and S/4HANA environments, including an understanding of key modules and data flows.
  • Hands-on experience with interface development and testing (IDOCs, middleware, APIs) to connect SAP with external systems is a bonus.
  • Experience with SAP Activate methodology and Agile/Waterfall hybrid project delivery.

SKILLS

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and capability to analyze complex data.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with both business and technical stakeholders.
  • Practical experience with system cutovers and large-scale go-live events, preferably involving SAP.
