JOB SUMMARY

The Applications Analyst, under the direction of the Sr. Manager of Enterprise Applications & Engineering, will serve as a product specialist for the firm's legal application set. Collaborating with other IT peers and vendors, this individual will assist with defining, configuring, and working to implement the user experience as it relates to the end-user computing environment. This role will be a member of the firm-wide Enterprise Applications team serving as a subject matter expert for vendor applications that are used by the firm daily.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*

  • Applies systems analysis techniques and procedures including consultation with users and leadership in formulating system requirements. Including, but not limited to, researching current or new technologies that address established requirements, advising users and management on available options, identifying and reporting on the implications of installing new or modifying current systems or configurations, and performing project management of application rollout projects.
  • Assists with defining the user experience for the firm's end-user computing environment. Including, but not limited to, Windows 11, Microsoft Office 365, iManage Cloud, iManage Security Policy Manager (SPM), Litera application suite (Forte, Metadact, Compare, DocXtools, Numbering, CAM, etc.) or similar products, Adobe Product Suite, Kofax Power PDF, and other legal applications.
  • Collaborates with other IT staff, leads the planning, testing, and rollout of software upgrades as well as new system implementations within a Microsoft environment.
  • Performs configuration, testing and management of firm applications. Provides oversight and support for regular maintenance, and update testing of applications. Ensures preventative maintenance activities are regularly planned and implemented.
  • Develops and maintain detailed application test plans for both engineering level and support level testing when required.
  • Performs and documents regression testing for application updates and/or changes.
  • Contributes to and maintains technology support knowledgebase where appropriate.
  • Provides escalated software support and problem-resolution to computer system users. This will include working closely with Technical Support (Help Desk) personnel to research and resolve, individual and systemic user and environment issues, and document their resolutions in appropriate knowledge base.
  • Reviews existing processes/procedures/technologies and provide suggestions to streamline and optimize the environment.
  • Creates detailed technical documentation for all implemented applications and system rollouts when assigned as Technical Lead or assisting a Technical Lead.
  • Completes special projects on various technologies as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft 365 Apps suite, customization and integration options
  • Advanced knowledge of legal applications, customization tactics and how they integrate into the legal desktop environment
  • Advanced knowledge or legal application troubleshooting
  • Strong knowledge of iManage Cloud DMS, Cloud iManage user, group and workspace management, and iManage integrations to Microsoft 365 Apps
  • Strong knowledge of iManage Security Policy Manager (SPM), including setting up and managing restricted Collections, Cases, Opposing Team Sets and Holds. Manage and advise on Workspace lockdown processes and notification workflows
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including telephone skills, verbal and written communication skills, active listening and customer care
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage time dedicated to task and project work, including providing action item summaries after attended meetings, consistently updating task lists and providing reasonable timelines with proper expectations
  • Ability to work with and manage 3rd party vendors while collaborating on all open cases that require research, understanding and safe implementation of suggested fixes and solutions with minimal user interruptions
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree required or relevant equivalent experience in lieu of degree
  • Relevant vendor certifications, such as Microsoft Office Specialist, preferred

Experience:

  • 3+ years of supporting and managing a broad portfolio of legal applications
  • 3+ years of designing application configurations, upgrade processes, and supporting documentation
  • 3+ years of supporting internal escalation and troubleshooting of applications
  • Law firm experience required

The annualized good faith base salary range for this position in the following location(s):

  • New York: is a minimum of $113,000 to a maximum of $169,000 per year.

The actual salary rate offered to candidates within that range will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, years of relevant experience, education, applicable certifications, and other relevant professional licenses held, and the candidate's overall qualifications for the position as assessed by the Firm.
