Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for inventory management, materials control, and billing of materials at the GATX Waycross service center and analysis of inventory management data and information. This position will work closely with the Waycross Materials Team, Quality Control Leads, Maintenance Experts, Inspectors, and Production Supervisors. As a subject matter expert in SAP MM (Materials Management), this position will collaborate with GATX corporate procurement on inventory metrics, cycle counts, security, and cost.

Key Activities:

    Analyze add-ons and input customer billing of materials. Collaborate with necessary departments across GATX to ensure accurate data entry and coding.
  • Responsible for the material control and inventory management of ~$13M in parts and supplies at the Waycross service center. Utilize required SAP transactions. Specific areas of focus include but are not limited to: material audit, material dispersal, bar coding, material storage/security strategy, stock classification definition, reorder point management, inventory strategy, surplus/scrap disposition, and the annual physical inventory and/or cycle counting process.
  • Complete all tasks, projects, and continuous improvement initiatives as directed by Materials Lead. Track cost metrics daily for the materials department. Crosstrain on all materials department tasks.


Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 1 year of experience in inventory management, billing, warehousing, shipping and receiving, sourcing, and procurement preferred.
  • Intermediate to Advanced SAP MM and Microsoft Suite experience required.
  • Material controls and inventory management best practice, metrics and technology experience preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in the rail industry preferred.

USD $59,600.00/Yr.


Max

USD $81,700.00/Yr.
This role may be eligible to participate in the Company's short-term incentive plan and long-term incentive plan, the details of which will be provided to the applicant upon hire.
This range is a reasonable estimate and takes into account several factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including, but not limited to, geographic location, skill set, experience, education, training, internal equity, and other business needs.
