The Engineering and Engineering Technology unit in the School of STEM at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh (UWO) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position beginning Fall 2026. UWO is seeking outstanding candidates who can excel in teaching, conduct impactful research, and provide leadership in developing the new Robotics and Autonomous Systems efforts at UWO. This tenure-track faculty position will involve teaching courses in robotics, mechatronics, autonomous systems, AI, and related fields. As a new faculty in this area, the successful candidate will have a tremendous opportunity to shape the program and exert leadership in a collegial and growing department. Candidates with significant teaching and research accomplishments and/or industrial experience may be considered for associate professor rank. Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Teach courses as required in the Department of Engineering and Engineering Technology

  • Contribute to professional service activities at the department, campus, and national level

  • Establish an active research program in an area of robotics and biomedical engineering

Compensation:

Starting at $70,000 and commensurate with experience.

Required Qualifications:
  • Doctorate in electrical engineering or related discipline with a focus on robotics, autonomous systems or Artificial Intelligence, earned by start date.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Evidence of ability to develop and teach courses in robotics, mechatronics, autonomous systems, AI, and related fields.

  • At least one semester of teaching experience at the college or university level (as instructor or comparable role).

  • Evidence of industrial collaboration, student mentorship or outreach engagement.
