Hornblower is seeking a Senior Asset Manager for our Seaward Services operation in Norfolk VA.

About the Opportunity:

This role is at the Naval Surface War Combatant Craft division in Norfolk VA; role upon award of contract. The Senior Asset Manager oversees lifecycle management of equipment, vessels, tools, and materials supporting waterfront operations. Manages inventories, tracks configuration and maintenance data, and ensures accurate documentation of assets. Coordinates procurement, disposition, and logistics activities to maintain readiness and accountability. Ensures compliance with property management standards, conducts audits, and supports reporting to Government property officials. Works closely with operations and maintenance teams to support mission requirements.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Manage lifecycle tracking for vessels, equipment, tools, and government-furnished assets.
  • Maintain configuration records, inventory databases, and asset readiness documentation.
  • Conduct audits, inspections, and physical inventories as required.
  • Coordinate procurement, replacement, and disposition of assets.
  • Ensure compliance with Government property management regulations.
  • Provide asset reports, utilization summaries, and reconciliation data.
  • Work with operations and maintenance teams to support mission requirements.
  • All other job duties as assigned.


Requirements & Qualifications:



  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience managing the operational status of assets and their repairs, including:


    • Tracking and scheduling preventative maintenance.
    • Monitoring operational status of all major systems on small watercraft, forklifts or vehicles.
    • Conducting inspections of small watercraft, forklifts or vehicles to identify needed repairs.
    • Tracking and reporting open repair items and asset readiness.


  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification; must possess and maintain.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience managing personnel on a contracted effort valued at $500K per year or more.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize operational needs, and allocate resources efficiently.
  • Effective communication skills for coordination with operations staff and Government stakeholders.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Ability to pass and maintain a drug and alcohol test in accordance with U.S. Coast Guard regulations.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
