Job Description
Tokyo Electron America, Inc., a subsidiary of Tokyo Electron Limited, is currently seeking a tenured Sr. Directory, Technology at our San Jose, CA facility. Responsibility
- Initiate the design, development, execution, and implementation of technological research projects as foundations for product development.
- Develop innovative solutions from first scientific principles at concept and feasibility phase to high volume manufacturing ready products.
- Lead interdisciplinary R&D, simulation, and engineering efforts to innovate and develop key technology modules for next gen deposition, cleans, and anneals chambers.
- Drive validated and verified simulations (CFD, Thermal, Plasma) of deposition, cleans, and anneals processes to accelerate product development learning rates.
- Use advanced understanding of logic and memory interconnect process flows and integration to design multi-step (e.g. multi-chamber) clean and deposition process for device performance optimization.
- Apply rigorous statistical analysis including machine learning approaches to analyze process experiment results during product development to ensure product development is data-driven and efficaciously optimized.
- Communicate product development results regularly with the factory through weekly meetings.
- Take responsibility for discussions directly with customers as needed for product introduction, product performance optimization, TTTM, and HVM operation.
- Maintain substantial knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories and contribute to scientific literature and conferences.
Qualifications and Preferences
- Ph.D. in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Chemical Engineering or equivalent
- >20 years' experience in the semiconductor equipment manufacturing industry
- Experience in semiconductor process technologies and progress integration
- Deep understanding of process simulation and its application to product development.
- Strong track record of product inception and product development to high volume release
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally 10-15%
