What You'll Do

  • Lead engaging training sessions using Mercy's designated curriculum to promote workplace safety and violence prevention.

  • Act as a lead or assistant instructor, scheduling classes, preparing classrooms, and ensuring a positive learning experience.

  • Apply adult learning principles to deliver impactful education through interactive methods, audiovisual tools, and real-world simulations.

  • Maintain WPV Instructor status for Mercy's designated training curriculum by teaching regularly and attending instructor updates.

  • Collaborate with other instructors and support organizational learning needs across multiple locations.

  • Travel opportunities for in-state and occasional out-of-state sessions.

What We're Looking For

  • Required:

    • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license

    • Maintain Workplace Violence Instructor status for Mercy's designated training curriculum

    • Degree in a related field OR two years of training experience

    • Minimum of 2 years in healthcare in roles such as education, patient care, safety/security, psychology, or behavioral health

  • Skills: Strong communication, facilitation, and organizational skills; ability to lead with confidence and composure

  • Physical Requirements: Ability to bend, lift, and move equipment; comfortable with active teaching scenarios

  • Preferred: Clinical degree, behavioral health or emergency department experience, prior workplace violence or de-escalation training
