The Evans-Haynes Burn Center is the regional resource for the care of acute burns and reconstructive needs of burn survivors and for people injured from fire, chemical, scalds, electrical burns and skin loss injuries as a result from disease. A 16-bed unit with eight-bed ICU and eight non-acute beds, 400-450 patients are treated per year including pediatric and adult burn patients. The Evans-Haynes Burn Center is dedicated to providing excellent interdisciplinary, holistic care for patients and their families across their lifespan, from point of injury until the optimal restoration of function. Building upon our illustrious history as the first civilian burn center in the nation, we have established ourselves as the foremost leader of comprehensive burn care for patients and their families serving as the beacon for education, research, and injury prevention. We are verified by the American Burn Association (ABA) as a Level I adult and pediatric burn center, a mark of true distinction for a burn center. It shows we provide a high quality of patient care and meet the demanding standards set by the ABA. The Patient Care Tech provides direct, age-specific care to a patient or group of patients based on medical orders and the plan of care under the direction of the RN or licensed independent practitioner. Essential Job functions:
Patient Population: Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide equitable care appropriate to the age of the patients served on their assigned unit. Demonstrates knowledge and related competencies of the principles of growth and development of the life span and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to their age, specific needs and to provide the equitable care needed as described in departmental policies and procedures. Neonates (0-4 weeks), Infant (1-12 months), Pediatrics (1-12 years), Adolescents (13-17 years), Adolescents (13-17 years), Adults (18-64 years), Geriatrics (65 years and older) Employment Qualifications: High School Degree or equivalent Preferred Education: Licensure/Certification Required: AHA BLS HCP Certification or equivalent Licensure/Certification Preferred: N/A Minimum Qualifications: Certification/Completion of one of the following:
