Area Supervisor Field Services

Job Summary

Supervises, assists, and supports a team of Service Technicians that ensure a uniform implementation of the company's Turkey Management Program. Develops and motivates a team and contract growers and develops new management practices, programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervises the day-to-day activities of a team of individual contributors. Provides guidance, coaching, and support to ensure successful completion of tasks. Participates in HR activities such as hiring, terminations, performance management, goal setting, team member development, scheduling, etc. Enforces systems, policies, and procedures.

  • Provides coverage for team members responsibilities as needed.

  • Provides training and ongoing support in development of job skills, such as understanding of management program, disease diagnosis, communication with growers, proper documentation, medication administration, flock closeouts for proper payment, etc.

  • Intercedes as necessary to ensure service technicians maintain a positive working relationship between growers and company and informs management of any unresolved problems.

  • Maintains periodic contact with growers to assess working relationship with field representatives, health of flocks, and to assist as needed.

  • Investigates disease problems and coordinates veterinarian recommendations to implement vaccination and clean-up programs.

  • Reviews weekly service reports to identify specific needs or support.

  • Reviews all documentation and reports to ensure accuracy, identify specific needs or support, and correct errors prior to flock closeouts.

  • Prepares monthly highlight report for submission to management noting variances to performance goals.

  • Offers improvement suggestions for facilities that will improve quality and cost.

  • Provides suggestions to be incorporated in the company's production performance goals.

Minimum Qualifications (Educations & Experience)

  • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Poultry Science or equivalent

  • 4+ years of relevant experience or the knowledge, skills, and abilities to succeed in the role

  • 1+ year of leadership experience or the knowledge, skills, and abilities to succeed in the role

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelor's degree in Poultry Science

Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, keyboard, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions

  • Work will be performed in a variety of conditions including remote work, a climate-controlled office environment(s), and in a manufacturing plant environment with varying conditions, such as cold areas, wet areas, warm areas, chemicals, and other site conditions. This position requires the individual to wear and work in personal protective equipment while in the manufacturing environment. For remote work, the employee must have a dedicated workspace to safely setup and use assigned IT equipment, preferably free from distractions. The employee is responsible for ensuring adequate internet service is available when working remotely (the recommended minimum speed is 20mb download and 5mb upload).

  • The noise level of the office environment is usually moderate; the noise level in the manufacturing environment may exceed 85 DBA and require hearing protection.

  • Minimal regional travel may be required.
