The Analytics Strategic Planning Director is focused on advising senior leaders across the Consumer Marketplace portfolio as to how Data and Analytics can be utilized to beat increasing competition in the market. This includes building relationships with all senior leaders of the Consumer Marketplace portfolio and partnering with them to establish leading strategic success measures for each key part of the business and then ensuring the Marketplace Analytics team has the right strategy to operationalize measurement against these key metrics.
As a strategic advisor to the Consumer Marketplace, this leader will remain current on industry trends and proactively monitor strategic internal KPI's, providing strategic recommendations as to how the Consumer Marketplace Operations, Marketing or Product teams should take action to ensure these businesses are the most data driven in the Market.
The Director will also work with senior business leaders to understand the future vision in order to ensure key data foundational elements are included in business plans and key success measures are considered collectively across growth initiatives, ensuring the Consumer Marketplace is truly a data-driven organization.
This role is also accountable for key strategic deliverables throughout the year such as annual forecasting, monthly forecasts aligned to annual forecast, KPI focus throughout the year relative to progress towards forecasts, group capacity planning (in conjunction with Director Marketplace Analytics) and role delineation between business analytics and other analytics teams across Cox Automotive.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Primary Duties/Key Responsibilities
- Build relationships with senior leaders across the Consumer Marketplace portfolio to ensure that as the business strategy is formulated and key new initiatives are ideated, proactive consideration is given to establishing a data driven culture to measure success of the business strategy is clear
- In conjunction with Operations, Marketing and Product leaders, act as a leader of collaboration setting the priorities for the Marketplace Analytics team, ensuring these priorities are closely aligned to the Marketplace business priorities
- Champion clarity and alignment by establishing transparent processes, communication channels, and frameworks that ensure all analytics initiatives are understood, prioritized, and measured consistently across the Consumer Marketplace
- Translate complex analytics insights into actionable business recommendations for senior leaders and non-technical stakeholders
- Make recommendations for most appropriate KPI's to measure success of Marketplace on-going business and key annual initiatives and also recommend appropriate targets for these strategic KPI's
- In conjunction with key Operations and Marketing leaders, lead development of the annual Marketplace forecast which then drives many associated business planning assumptions
- Lead in-depth, proactive ad hoc analyses around the most important business trends and strategic KPI's, leveraging all available Cox Auto data to inform Marketplace business strategy. Summarize outputs of these ad hoc analyses in a cohesive story that spurs business action.
- Maintain a proactive view of market competitors such as CarGurus, cars.com and CarFax so that Cox Automotive's data and analytical capabilities can continue to serve as a market differentiator against these competitors
- Oversee acquisition of and strategic analysis of 3rd competitive comparison data such as ComScore or SimilarWeb, used to inform our strategic approaches toward other major competitors in market
- Lead analytics efforts associated with new product/business line planning for the Marketplace portfolio
- Serve as a change agent, influencing business decisions and efforts to build a stronger data foundation for the Consumer Marketplace without having direct control over the resources responsible for this work
- Develop key strategic frameworks which can be utilized across the Marketplace Analytics team in order to ensure business analytics support on new initiatives is truly strategic in nature
- Proactively work with other CDA Analytics teams to leverage frameworks and deliverables that be utilized by the Marketplace Analytics team to drive additional business value
WHO YOU ARE
Requirements/Minimum Qualifications
- BS/BA degree + 10 years experience with a concentration in Analytics, Business Administration or Data Science preferred
- Required 10+ years of relevant analytics consulting or industry experience
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience
- 5+ years experience working with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, DOMO, Qlik or similar tool set
- 5+ years experience leading cross team collaborations and adding strategic value to an organization
- Proven track record of advising senior executives and influencing business decisions through data-driven insights
- Ability to drive change and influence without direct authority
- Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable business recommendations
- Proven experience in building out and implementing digital analytics framework and strategy in an enterprise environment
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills up to Sr Executive level
- Ability to create clear goals and foster accountability/ownership
- Other duties as needed or required
- Must be willing to travel up to 15-25% of time
- Must live or be willing to relocate to Atlanta GA
USD 144,900.00 - 241,500.00 per year
Compensation:
Compensation includes a base salary of $144,900.00 - $241,500.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
