HDR is looking for a Site Civil BIM Designer to join our Building Engineering Services (BES) Group in either our Charlotte or Raleigh office. On a day to day basis, the Site Civil BIM Designer will be expected to:

* Work closely with Project Managers, Project Engineers, and a multi-discipline design team on a daily basis.
* Support the design and production of site civil construction documents related to Federal, Power, Architectural, Water/Wastewater, and Industrial Clients.
* Model and draft site civil design improvements in Civil 3D including, but not limited to, site survey, site layout, grading, drainage, storm water management systems, roadway, erosion and sediment control, landscaping, and site utilities.
* Model both gravity and pressure pipe networks.
* Support the development of construction drawings in Civil 3D to ensure that the files and plans adhere to HDR and/or client CAD standards.
* Prepare detailed drawings, layouts, & diagrams of the design within the project scope, schedule, and budget, using the current 3D software
* Demonstrate an understanding of site civil design concepts including earthwork, surfaces, site grading, pipe networks, etc.
* Coordinate the design with other discipline models through Design Reviews and the 3D Coordination process
* Maintain an attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture.
* Perform other duties as needed.

Preferred Qualifications
* Understanding of site civil design concepts, industry standards and practices
* Autodesk Civil 3D certification.
* Navisworks, MicroStation and OpenRoads experience is welcome.

Required Qualifications
  • Technical degree or a minimum of 3 years related industry experience
  • Technically qualified with 3D design software and document management infrastructure
  • Competency of Microsoft Office products and communication tools
  • Experience with 3D Coordination tools
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational traits are essential
  • Intermediate understanding of engineering or architectural concepts
