- We are seeking a detail-oriented Surface-Mount Technology (SMT) Assembler.
- The incumbent will assemble printed circuit boards (PCBs) using surface-mount technology, perform in-process inspections, and ensure that every product meets our rigorous quality and reliability standards.
- Load and unload boards, feeders, and solder paste printers onto automated pick-and-place machines (Juki, Fuji, Samsung).
- Set up component trays, verify part numbers, and adjust machine parameters (placement speed, vision settings, nozzle height).
- Perform manual rework and hand-soldering for components that require special handling, such as Ball Grid Arrays (BGAs), Quad Flat No-lead (QFNs), and fine-pitch components.
- Conduct visual and automated inspections, Automated Optical Inspection (AOI), Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI), to detect defects such as bridges, tombstoning, misplacements, solder shorts, and insufficient wetting.
- Apply Institute for Printed Circuits (IPC) A 610 (Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies) and Institute for Printed Circuits (IPC) J STD 001 (Soldering Materials) throughout the assembly process.
- Perform routine cleaning, nozzle checks, and preventive maintenance on pick-and-place machines and reflow ovens.
- Troubleshoot equipment alarms, feeder jams, and placement accuracy issues.
- Keep the work area organized and adhere to the 6S principles.

Required Skills / Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in General Assembly, Machine Shop, Surface Mount Technology.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in operating pick-and-place equipment and a grasp of the Institute for Printed Circuits (IPC) standards.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in mixed technology boards (both Surface-Mount Technology (SMT) and through-hole).
- Minimum 1 year of experience in machine operating.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in pick and place equipment.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in hands-on Surface-Mount Technology (SMT) assembly in a high-mix, high-volume production environment.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
- Associate Degree in Electronics Manufacturing.
- Proficient with automated pick and place equipment (setup, calibration, troubleshooting).
- Good understanding of SMT component families (0201 1206, Quad Flat No-lead (QFN), Ball Grid Arrays (BGA), Customer Service Point (CSP), Flip Chip Ball Grid Array (FCBGA).
- Ability to use microscopes, Automated Optical Inspection (AOI), Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI), and visual inspection techniques to identify and document defects.
- Knowledge of lead-free, RoHS-compliant processes and cleaning methods.
