Job Description

Supervises, directs, develops and trains our warehouse department employees. Uses sound management principles and techniques to assess and develop talent, skills, and processes with a major focus on cross training.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises warehouse employees, temporary laborers, and personnel from other departments on temporary assignment in the warehouse. Works with the Pressroom Supervisor and Bindery Supervisor to share personnel and cooperatively assign tasks that best resolve top priority jobs.
  • Maintains thorough knowledge of all receiving, shipping, and inventory processes. Understands best practices, continuous improvement, and regulatory compliance requirements. Manages inventory by keeping it up to date, accurate, and in compliance with reporting requirements.
  • Can direct and educate employees on the best management, maintenance, and efficient operation of industrial equipment.
  • Be the standard for a safe working environment. Know, grow, and apply safety knowledge daily. Coach and correct out of compliance staff. Ensure PPE requirements are being met, the warehouse is clean and organized, and PIV certifications are monitored and kept up to date.
  • Effectively plans and schedules workflow through the department and modifies schedules as needed in accordance with business needs. Manages employee time off and coverage. Keeps accurate and timely employee UKG timecards and Monarch time sheets.
  • Organizes work for efficient operations. Ensures that departmental goals, including safety, quality, continuous improvement, and KPIs are established and met.
  • Administers policies and procedures and recommends changes as necessary. Follows positive employee relations practices. Selects and recommends candidates for hire, promotion, recognition, disciplinary action, and/or termination. Responsible for keeping appropriate documentation.
  • Tracks and controls department expenditures and labor costs to ensure compliance with plant and department budgets. Provides reporting and analysis to management.
  • Provides general facility support by overseeing baling, scrapping, and garbage removal. This includes cleanliness and general inspections of the baling and concentration equipment. Also responsible for the oversight of PIV battery charging stations, battery changing, and general PIV operation.
  • Troubleshoots processes when necessary. Works with team members to resolve and request other resources as necessary.
  • Promotes a positive work environment, sound training programs, and adherence to standards of procedure. Maintains good communication with staff and management.
  • Works closely with other departments to ensure the accuracy of work performed and the timely unloading, storage, movement, and shipment of product.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Job Knowledge & Skills

  • Minimum: High School or GED
  • Knowledge of Windows applications; Microsoft Office products; and database systems. Experience with WCSS, WBS, Monarch Foundation, DPrint, and FM Pro ship schedules is a plus.
  • Demonstrated comfort and ability to learn and leverage new systems.
  • Bias for process focus and the demonstrated ability to drive process improvement. Must have demonstrated flexibility to multi-task and shift focus and re-prioritize as the situation dictates.
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively approach problems and drive for results.
  • 3 or more years' experience in comprehensive multi-shift department management in a manufacturing environment. Printing or fulfillment environment preferred.
  • Preferred: 4 year / Bachelors Degree.

Skills and Certifications

    • Must have the ability and willingness to adjust work schedule to the needs of the business.
    • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage people and direct work activities.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organization.
    • Can utilize several different software systems / programs for reporting, data storage, communication, time keeping, scheduling, and general management purposes.

Possible travel to R.R. Donnelley Corporate or other facilities


Additional Information

The salary range for this role at the noted RRD location is $73,200 - $114,30 / annually. Starting pay decisions

are determined based on multiple factors including but not limited to relevant education, qualifications,

skills, experience, certifications, proficiency, performance, shift, location, and other businessneeds. Typically, roles follow step progressions to a target rate or set increments over time. Depending onthe role, in addition to the hourly rate of pay, the total compensation package may also includeovertime, shift differential, call-in, and/or stand-by pay. RRD's benefit offerings includemedical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, disability insurance, 401(k) with company match, lifeinsurance and other voluntary supplemental insurance coverages, plus parental leave, adoptionassistance, tuition assistance and employer/partner discounts.
