POSITION OVERVIEW

Located in Southeast Ohio, Wellston is a manufacturing facility of approx. 1,000 dedicated employees serving as the sole producer of Totino's Pizza and Pizza Rolls. The Pizza Operations Manager plays an integral role driving overall plant results through collaboration with our plant leadership team and advancing Manufacturing Excellence. This role partners closely with the Snacks Operating Unit on key business initiatives and strategies. The Operations Manager serves as a platform team coach and assumes other key leadership responsibilities requiring flexibility, agility, and creative problem solving. The person in this role develops strategies and leads teams to reduce human and food safety risks, drive out losses to increase reliability and decrease waste, deliver Cost Per Case and HMM, enable growth, and build culture. This role has 3-5 direct reports including 3 Platform Leaders and will have responsibility for providing the direction and development of approximately 325 team members in operations.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Contribute as an integral part of the plant leadership team to drive the plant strategy and culture
  • Coach, develop and inspire work group to achieve required Human Safety, Food Safety, and Production Results
  • Develop short and long-term strategies to drive, productivity, organizational effectiveness and improvements in key plant priorities and metrics
  • Create an environment where all employees are encouraged and developed to reach their full potential in meeting department and business goals. Lead processes and behaviors to build capability at the production-employee level in the organization
  • Foster a strong working partnership with all functions to support plant objectives
  • Ensure efficient, safe, and sanitary processing and packaging working towards zero losses
  • Provide business leadership that demonstrates daily commitment to company, department, and plant goals
  • Ensure effective interchange of information between operations department and support departments
  • Ensure the proper selection, training, development, and motivation of the team to maximize current and future performance
  • Model the Company and Plant's Behaviors and Values

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively engage with the plant floor including building positive employee relations
  • Ability to deliver results through others by managing salaried employees and/or leading cross functional teams
  • Strong coaching skills and ability to deliver effective feedback
  • Strong leadership skills including the ability to effectively lead change
  • Ability to create and lead strategic initiatives
  • Solid business judgment including demonstrated problem
  • Good financial analysis and resource allocation skills; experience developing productivity
  • Ability to develop and manage a budget

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Engineering, Operations Management, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Leadership
  • Platform Team (Platform Leader, Process Lead, or Maintenance Lead) experience ideal

  • International relocation or international remote working arrangements (outside of the US) will not be considered.

Salary Range



The salary range for this position is $108900.00 - $163500.00 / Annually. At General Mills we strive for each employee's pay at any point in their career to reflect their experiences performance and skills for their current role. The salary range for this role represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, educations, skills, work experience, certifications, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
