Job Description

General Summary:

The Logistics and Distribution Senior Manager performs multiple activities in support of manufacturing and planning, applying proficiency in logistics to execute upon production and inventory plans. Contributes to production and inventory plan development and troubleshoots complex logistics issues.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and communicate cross-functionally to incorporate business requirements into production planning and ensure on-time delivery to support key business objectives
  • Develop and implement tools and business processes to identify potential schedule and resource conflicts; work collaboratively to generate alternatives and drive to resolutions
  • Execute purchase orders to support manufacturing plans and coordinates material deliveries
  • Solve complex logistics issues and selects modes of transport
  • Participates in quality investigations
  • Implement process improvements to reduce complexity and eliminate non-value-added activities
  • Develop system of metrics aimed at driving continuous improvement within own department
  • Proactively and collaboratively work cross-functionally to resolve issues that block the timely flow of materials or projects
  • Coordinate and communicate cross-functionally with all relevant stakeholders to incorporate business requirements into logistics and distribution operations and ensure on-time delivery in support of business objectives
  • Ensure operational excellence in material delivery to achieve exceptional performance versus customer commitments
  • Define, measure, and communicate key performance indicators and supportive metrics that track the effectiveness of logistics and distribution operations
  • Knowledge and Skills:

  • Fluency and proficiency with standard logistics and distribution activities
  • In-depth analytical skills, strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative and fast-paced team environment, including influencing business leadership to build alignment around a topic/issue
  • Highly skilled in data analysis, manipulation, and presentation, to include software skills with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and Access
  • Strong understanding of ERP systems; knowledge of Oracle-based systems a plus
  • Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific, business or related discipline
  • Typically requires 6 years of experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience in logistics and distribution
  • Pay Range:

    $123,000 - $184,500

    Disclosure Statement:

    The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
