Department Profile: TheSpecial Care NurseryatDuke Regional Hospitalis comprised of an18-bed Level IIB nursery serving newborns greater than 32 weeks gestation. Our team is active in delivering exemplary care for each patient to ensure an excellent patient experience, every time. The unit provides care for more than 400 infants each year. The multidisciplinary team actively participates in providing additional support for the infant that is moderately ill. *Provides mechanical ventilation and/or CPAP for a brief duration Shift: Nights, 12 hours Job Summary: Education Work requires graduation from an accredited BSN program. Exception: Registered nurses hired b etween July 1, 2014 and April 11,2021 without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) are encouraged to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date but must complete the program within seven years of their start date. Registered nurses hired before July 1, 2014 are not required to enroll in a BSN program to remain in this job classification. Experience Twelve months of appropriate clinical experience is required. At a manager's discretion, employees with 6 months of experience who are exceptional performers may be eligible for this level.CN Is are eligible for promotion to CN II by meeting criteria set forth by the DUHS Vizient Nurse Residency Program within 12 mont hs of hire. Promotions can occur at 12 months of hire, but no later than 18 months of hire. Degrees, Licensures, Certifications Must have current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina. BLS required.
