Job Description




As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol in Elko, NV, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as a Patrol Armed Officer supporting a government location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help deter security-related incidents. You will remain visible throughout your shift, respond to situations as needed, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor for unusual or suspicious behavior and report findings according to established protocols.
  • Maintain a visible presence to help to deter potential issues and to assist employees, visitors, and/or members of the public as needed.
  • Document observations, incidents, and/or activities in daily reports and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal management and client representatives.
  • Operate and maintain assigned security-related equipment, including firearms, in accordance with company and site-specific guidelines.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services when required by incidents or site procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least one year of armed security, law enforcement, or military experience is required.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • An armed guard card or license is preferred.
  • Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, or baton is preferred.
  • Experience with access control or badge systems is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
