The Financial Specialist position within Facilities Management is a highly skilled and collaborative position focused on accurate, timely billing of services, payment of bills, creating budgets and analyzing expenditures.Position includes working with a multi-million dollar facilities budget, including utilities, car fleet and related operations.

This is a full-time, benefit and paid leave eligible position. The salary for this position begins at $50,000 and is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Reallocates expenses to appropriate funding strings
  • May train staff on financial processes and best practices
  • Serve as a unit liaison to leadership providing financial advice, recommendations, and financial status updates
  • Monitors financial transactions and fund balances and generates and reconciles complex reports and statements in accordance with established rules and regulations
  • Reviews transaction processing internal controls and recommends policies and procedures
  • Answers complex fiscal questions and provides information based on set materials and standards to various audiences
  • Drafts communications and reports and maintains organization of varied records to provide administrative support within a specified work unit
  • Reviews and approves complex transactions and assigns funding codes in accordance with established rules, regulations, and policies

In Order to Succeed You'll Need:

  • Associate's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or similarly related financial field

  • Must possess a strong focus on conscientious in work quality

  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to resolve complex problems with multiple variables required

  • Must have excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines

  • Must be proficient in working with expenses, accounting and ability to reconcile accounts

  • Must have a strong mathematical ability/aptitude

  • Exceptional communication skills required with demonstrated ability to communicate at every level in the organization respectfully and collaboratively in verbal, written and electronic format

  • Must be able to communicate professionally and respectfully with supervisor and staff in support of a collaborative work environment
