What You Can Expect As a Water Treatment Technician I, you will play a key role in maintaining the University of Iowa's drinking water treatment plant and supporting the High-Quality Water (HQW) Group, which oversees facilities such as the Oakdale Water Plant, Macbride Nature Recreation AreaPublic Water System, and campus pools and spas. This is a day-shift position (Monday-Friday) with rotational on-call duties, including nights, weekends, and holidays. When on call, you must be able to report on-site within one hour. Each day, you will review priorities, plan tasks, and interact with students, faculty, and staff, explaining service and repair processes and addressing safety concerns with professionalism and courtesy. You'll also provide exceptional customer service while working in diverse campus environments, including hospitals, pharmacies, and research labs, and complete assigned tasks while maintaining accurate records of time and materials using the company's work order management system. While you will collaborate with others in the plant, this role is much more customer-facing and operates with a sense of ownership, similar to running your own business. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work in the trades, values excellent customer service, and is eager to grow with the organization. Your roles and responsibilities encompass:

Compensation Hourly Range: $26.58 - $40.74 USD hourly This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate. ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
