PAY RANGE: $51, 268 - 64,085

POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a Training Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating, presenting, and evaluating training materials and courses for employees.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
(This list is not intended to detail all aspects of the assigned work but is representative of the job's overall responsibilities.)
* Conduct new hire orientation sessions for production employees every Friday and on an as-needed basis.
* Facilitate engaging, informative safety training sessions for new and existing ship repair employees across various trades/crafts.
* Ensure all safety training materials and programs comply with OSHA and other relevant safety regulations.
* Collaborate with production training manager and production managers to assess specific training needs and implement effective solutions.
* Maintain accurate records of all training activities, certifications, and employee progress.
* Create and update training materials, including presentations, handouts, test questionnaire, etc.
* Travel between Portland and Seattle to facilitate training sessions on an as-needed basis (~5%).
* Provide guidance and support to employees on best safety practices and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) on projects. Stay current on industry safety standards, best practices, and new regulations.

JOB SCOPE:

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
* At least 1 year of experience in a safety related role, including conducting training.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
* High School Diploma or GED Certificate is required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS:
  • Certifications: Train the Trainer certifications for various safety courses (i.e. Aerial Lift, Fire watch, Forklift, Fall Protection, Marine Confined Space, etc.) preferred but not required.
  • Understanding of OSHA regulations and other applicable safety standards.


This role is with a federally contracted employer and is subject to regulations that restrict employment to US Persons only (i.e. US Citizens, lawful permanent residents, legally recognized asylees and refugees, and persons protected under INA). Successful job candidates will be asked to provide documentation of their US Persons status.
