Pay: $22-24/hour based on experience
The Quality Control Inspector plays a vital role in ensuring that products meet all design and contract requirements as defined by engineering drawings and specifications. This position is actively involved in first article, pre-production development, production, and incoming inspection stages of manufacturing and assembly.
The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for verifying product conformance through detailed inspections and documentation, ensuring all assembly, final inspection, and incoming inspection activities are complete and accurate. Once verified, products are cleared for movement into inventory and/or shipment.
Responsibilities:
  • Performs inspection activities, such as complex visual and dimensional inspections on incoming, final inspections, first article inspections as well as during in-process inspection.
  • Ensure all Quality Control documents, such as travelers and inspection sheets, are maintained daily, with all entries kept up to date and accurate.
  • Prepare and create inspection documents such as written description of inspection results including deviation from engineering specification.
  • Manage and assigned inspection priorities based the customer PO due dates.
  • All shop floor and suppliers originated non-conformance (NCMR log) to be written by the Quality Control Inspector I and II for the product/processes, except for those written by QM or QA.
  • Assists QA's with identifying nonconforming conditions that present existing or impending defective conditions at the system or subsystem level of assembly or incoming inspection, audits and preparing inspection plans such as creating inspection documents and routing, updating inspection documents and routing, and data collection and root cause analysis investigations.
  • Provides general support of QA's including communication, Corrective Action Request processing, product evaluation, and sorting activities under exceptional circumstances, and interfacing with other team members as necessary to complete assigned tasks in support of continuous improvement initiatives using A3, 8D, statistical studies.
  • Participates and supports problem solving activities such as Fishbone, 5-Why, Fault-tree, etc.
  • Perform material movement transactions after completing inspection process.
  • Use calipers, micrometers, HI-POT tester, continuity test board, thread gauges, height gauges, gauge blocks, tape ruler, steel ruler and other related inspection equipment to perform the work.
  • Prepare inspection reports, Certificate of Conformance, and assist with FAI (First Article Inspection) reports and customer certification requirements.
  • Communicate project status and quality challenges with department managers/leads.
  • Guide less experience inspectors, providing solutions and maintaining rigorous quality control procedures.
  • Support production teams in adhering to ISO 9001 processes.
  • Participate in audits and compliance projects as assigned.
  • Follow applicable procedures and work instruction while offering ideas for improvement.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality objectives are met throughout the production process
Skills and Experience Required
  • Minimum of 5 years as Quality Control Inspector in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawing and specification.
  • Strong knowledge of Engineering Change Notice (ECN), Engineering Change Request (ECR), Deviation and Waiver.
  • Ability to exercise good judgement and make effective decisions independently.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in instruments tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.)
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • Strong proficiency in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) and Sharepoint.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to demonstrate attention to detail in completing assignments and in communicating to internal and external representatives.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of statistics, geometry, fractions, percentages, and ratios.
  • Strong knowledge of quality control processes, procedures and best practices.
  • Ability to build relationship with a variety of positions within the company. Tactfulness, professionalism, a team orientation and diplomacy with a problem solving approach are essential.
  • IPC certification and/or inspection experience in the electronics industry.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
