JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS The Pennsylvania State University Department/Area: Campus Recreation, Membership and Outreach Position Title:Membership and OutreachManager-Tennis Center Reports To: Coordinator of Reservations, Membership, and Outreach Description:Managers mustbecommitted to creating and leading a welcoming environment that enablesmembers of the Penn State community to thrive. They must havethe abilityto multitask in a fast-paced environment while providingexcellent interpersonal skillsandleadership.Managers musthavestrongproblem-solving and communicationskills. Responsibilities Membership/Outreach
- Oversight of daily operations, which includes policy enforcement, shift promptness, troubleshooting technology, and staff and patron concerns.
- Perform membershipand court timesales,administrative duties, answeringtheoffice phone,guidingfacilitytoursand providing general customer service to patrons.
- Troubleshooting issues with membership/membership renewals, and court times.
- Assistwith the coordination of Campus Recreationoutreach events.
- Manage digital outreach in facilities
- Serve as a staff trainer andprovideprofessional development opportunities to current employees.
- Assistwith the evaluation and accountability of student staff.
- Assistincreationand maintenance of schedules of student employees.
- Coordinate Membership and Outreach-Tennis end-of-year employee appreciation event.
- Completeadditionalduties asassigned by supervisor.
Facilities
- Oversight of Reserve My Court.
- Oversight of Connect2 Tasks and Counts.
- Monitoring to ensure weare in compliance withAD 39.
- Assistwith traininginclaycourtgrooming and maintenance.
- Assistwith tennis sale products inventory.
Personal/Professional Development and Responsibilities - Develop and conduct monthly staff meetings and skill sessions
- Assist with Membership & Outreach Attendant Interviews andassistwith the training and onboarding process.
- Be receptivetoprofessional and personal development.

- Function as a contributing member of the Campus Recreation Team.

Requirements - Minimumof150 hoursas a Membership and Outreach Attendantrequired.
- Must successfully complete the following 3 clearances:
- PA State Police Criminal Background Check
- PA Child Abuse History Clearance
- FBI Criminal Background Check
- Successfully complete Pediatric and Adult CPR/First Aid afterhire.
- Ability to positively interact with patrons and employees alike.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Strong critical thinking skills.
- Promote Campus Recreation programs and services.
Working Conditions - Average of 12-15 hours worked per week.
- Includes a minimum of 6 hours per week in the Membership Offices at theTennis Center Membership Office
- Work will take place on the University Park Campus and in the State College Community.
- Must be able to accommodate a variable work schedule that will include mornings,evening, weekends, and University breaks.
*At the end ofeach calendar year, each Membership and Outreach Manager will complete an end of year evaluation. If the manager has not met the expectations set out by the Membership and Outreach Coordinator and Assistant Director, they will be formallyreassigned.
BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.
