Get to Know Your Team:

  • Hillcrest Hospital Cushing is a 99-bed community-owned facility offering 24-hour emergency services, cardiology, general surgery, orthopedics, diagnostic imaging, withdrawal stabilization, wound care and urology.

Responsibilities

  • This position is accountable for operating the CT scanner, transportation of patients, handling, answering questions related to reports of exams.
  • Must be able to handle patient support equipment.
  • The incumbent helps clean rooms and equipment and order supplies, assist physicians with invasive procedures and administer basic C.P.R.
  • The incumbent helps the supervisor in the daily operation of the CT department.
  • Incumbent must be able to start IV to administer contrast fluid.
  • Must be ARRT registered or registry eligible.
  • The incumbent must be able to maintain a high standard of imaging.
  • A thorough knowledge of CT parameters, anatomy and positioning are essential for a quality exam.
  • Must be able to handle multiple demands simultaneously and keep a helpful attitude towards patients, their families, office personnel, physicians, and associates.
  • Must be able to coordinate patient prepping and scanning to maximize smooth patient flow.
  • Must be available for 24-hour call back with a 60-minute response time.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of contrast media injections and reactions.
  • Will participate in performance improvement initiatives.
  • Will assist with other activities as deemed necessary for the day-to-day operation of the department.
  • The incumbent must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in his or her assigned area.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Vocational/Technical education.
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (A.R.R.T.) or registry eligible.
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • 1 year of experience.
