The Opportunity:

The Manger will assist in leading the continued Finance Transformation at Mattel. You will work closely with systems leads, the Systems Implementation Partner, regional finance leadership teams, corporate tax team, and the NextGen Vice President. Mattel operates in 35 countries and sells products in >150 countries.

To excel in this role, the candidate should have a solid background in indirect tax, accounting and the ability to quickly learn systems with the ability to translate business requirements. In addition, they should have excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead and summarize decision making to executives. Experience in transformation is a plus. Experience with Oracle Fusion cloud and/orThomas Reueters for financials -. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of driving decisions forward, understanding business processes, and process improvement, along with a passion for the data and tools to support a modern Finance organization.

What Your Impact Will Be:

  • In this role, the candidate will be part of a team that collaborates with and leads decision making with accounting, tax, technical, and other finance and business integration teams to deliver world class solutions that are highly scalable, secure, and flexible.
  • Lead configuration, optimization, and ongoing management of indirect tax systems-primarily Thomson Reuters and Oracle Fusion.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (Tax, Shared Services, IT, and Finance) to enhance compliance, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Drive process improvements and integration of indirect tax solutions into broader Finance Transformation initiatives.
  • Produce and present executive-level updates on Next Gen Finance initiatives.
  • Coordinate and manage in-region test cycles, ensuring alignment of resources, locations, and outcomes.
  • Influence system and process design decisions that shape the future of Finance at Mattel.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing change with clarity and confidence

What We're Looking For:

  • 7+ years of experience working in finance, and tax.
  • Strong understanding of indirect tax processes, as well as core finance functions such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and Order to Cash
  • Experience with Thomson Reuters indirect tax solutions and Oracle Fusion Cloud for financials preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to build relationships, influence decisions and drive results through partnerships at all levels
  • Strong initiative and ability to bring order to ambiguity
  • Strong problem-solving, planning, organizational and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to lead complex projects from concept through to implementation
  • Ability to function effectively in a highly charged executive environment, and the ability to discern when to act independently
  • Experience with large, global system implementations with globally disbursed project resources
  • Successful track record working with business teams to define, develop, test, and launch new processes and new programs
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) & presentation skills, including ability to tailor communication to audience to achieve desired results
  • Ability to anticipate potential issues and propose mitigation plans
  • Experience authoring and translating business requirements
  • Ability to plan, organize and proctor efficient meetings through preparation, stakeholder buy in, and guide a group towards agreed upon objectives
  • Experience with analyzing complex issues and delivering appropriate solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to think out of the box and generate creative solutions
