Compensation: $28.46-$28.46/hr

Tessera is seeking a courteous and safety-focused Passenger Van Driver to transport clients, trainees, and personnel at WSBOSC. This role requires excellent customer service, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to assist passengers with varying needs.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

  • Drives a minibus or van along designated routes to transport clients or company personnel according to a predetermined schedule.

  • Assists passengers in boarding and disembarking the vehicle, ensuring their safety and comfort during transit.

  • May assist passengers' wheelchairs to restraining devices to stabilize them throughout the journey.

  • Maintains effective communication with the base station or other vehicles using a radio or similar device, promptly reporting any service disruptions or emergencies.

  • Cleans and services to the vehicle, including fueling, lubricating, and performing minor maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance and safety.

  • Keeps accurate records of trips, including mileage, passenger behavior, and any incidents that may occur during transit.

  • Assists with custodial and building maintenance tasks when not driving, contributing to the overall upkeep of the facility.

  • Adheres to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies while driving and This position may be subject to call-back availability based on operational needs.

Qualifications:

  • Highschool Diploma/GED is required.

  • 0-3-year experience in vehicle operations.

  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Ability to sit for long periods of time and climb in and out of the vehicle as required.

Physical Requirements:

Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.

  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

  • May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.

  • Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.

  • Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.

Requirements:

  • A valid state driver's license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera's insurance.
