Electric Maintenance Technician III
Fort Rucker, Alabama DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Supports the Range Operations Branch at Fort Rucker, AL. Applies advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems that typically cannot be solved solely by referencing manufacturers' manuals or similar documents. Examples of such problems include determining the location and density of circuitry, evaluating electromagnetic radiation, isolating malfunctions, and incorporating engineering changes. Work typically requires an understanding of the interrelationships of circuits, exercising independent judgment in performing such tasks as making circuit analyses, calculating wave forms, and tracing relationships in signal flow. Work may be reviewed by supervisor for general compliance with accepted practices. This position may provide technical guidance to lower-level technicians. Supervises the development of range scenarios for automated ranges based upon unit requirements. Operates Remote Computer Stations in support of automated ranges based upon unit scheduling. Provides digital recordings of unit training in urban operations sites upon unit request. Facilitates the use of fog machines and remote manpack control stations upon unit request. Can perform all functions of subordinate members of the range maintenance section. Performs preventative maintenance on electrical panels and distribution systems. Performs corrective repairs on commercial and residential buildings. Ability to accurately read and follow blueprints and wiring schematics. Must possess the ability to proficiently locate underground utilities utilizing locator as required for dig permits. Extensive knowledge of both single and three phase systems up to 480 volts. Proficient in OSHA and Alabama OSHA standards. Knowledge of OSHA based lock-out/tag-out procedures. Adheres to the company, site, local directives, memoranda, policies and procedures. Support quality/ISO, SOP updates, and work instruction updates, security of equipment, safety and training programs. EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent. Formal or on-the-job training in requisitioning, issuing, warehousing, documentation and control of property.
- Requires four (4) years as Journeymen Electrician.
- Must be able to lift a maximum of 50 lbs and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Demonstrated capability to perform maintenance and repairs to electrical systems in commercial buildings.
- Proof of US Citizenship required.
SPECIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to use technical manuals, technical bulletins or manufacturer's specifications while performing maintenance, troubleshooting or corrective repairs to electrical systems, generators, and associated controls.
- Ability to accurately use and read volt/ohm meters and other electrical/electronic measuring devices, testing equipment or instruments.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Must be able to effectively communicate with military organizations, military leaders and civilian leaders.
- Must be capable of operating hand or power tools.
- Must have a valid driver's license, maintain Installation driving privileges and complete a Defensive Driving Course.
- Must be able to pass all security requirements IAW military installation Provost Marshall's Policy to gain access to the installation.

The position may require frequent visits to range and maintenance sites, including exposure to noise, weather, and outdoor conditions typical of live-fire training environments. The Project Manager may be required to work extended hours, weekends, or holidays based on mission schedules and contract needs.
