POSITION SUMMARY
The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of weekly payroll and benefit related tasks for all employees of the credit union using UKG Ready. This position ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local payroll regulations, maintains complete and accurate payroll records, handles garnishments, wage adjustments, and reimbursements, and partners closely with Human Resources to ensure consistency between payroll and employee data. Reporting into Finance, this role supports financial reporting, reconciliations, and payroll-related audits while maintaining confidentiality and a strong commitmentto service excellence.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
* Processes weekly payroll for all employees using UKG Ready, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with credit union policies and regulatory requirements.
* Audits and reconciles payroll data each pay cycle, including hours worked, overtime, bonuses, reimbursements, deductions, and adjustments.
* Verifies and maintains employee records related to pay rate changes, new hires, terminations, and leaves of absence in coordination with Human Resources.
* Administers and reconciles benefit, 401(k), and other payroll-related deductions; ensures accurate employer contributions and withholdings.
* Prepares payroll journal entries and assist with general ledger reconciliations and month-end financial close activities.
* Coordinates with Human Resources to ensure employee data integrity across UKG Ready and HR systems.
* Maintains compliance with wage and hour laws, tax regulations, and credit union policies; stay informed on payroll-related legislation and system updates.
* Responds promptly to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, and payroll policies while maintaining confidentiality.
* Supports annual processes, including W-2 preparation, year-end reconciliations, and payroll audits.
* Recommends and implements process improvements to enhance payroll accuracy, efficiency, and reporting capabilities.
* Serves as the primary liaison with UKG Ready support and other payroll-related vendors as needed.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
* Strong understanding of payroll processing, wage and hour laws, and payroll tax compliance.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting systems integration.
* High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and discretion in handling confidential data.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
* Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally with HR and Finance teams.

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE
* Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
* Minimum 3-5 years of payroll experience, preferably in a financial institution or complex, multi-location organization.
* Hands-on experience with UKG Ready payroll processing required.
* Experience processing weekly payroll and handling multiple pay groups preferred.

WORK ARRANGEMENT: The working arrangement for this position is hybrid. Hybrid work is an opportunity to find the right balance between working in the office and remotely, especially if it supports individual success and the needs of our organization. Hybrid schedules are determined by the hiring manager based on business unit needs and may vary by department.
