Purpose:


  • Valkyrie Enterprises has need for a Maintenance and Modernization Division Manager who will be key in leading technical installation support to NAVSEA Warfare Centers, Naval Operational and Intermediate Level Maintenance Commands and various DOD customers.
  • Located Virginia Beach, VA


Job Description:


  • Valkyrie Enterprises is seeking a Division Manager to lead Valkyrie's Maintenance and Modernization. The MM Division consists of prime and subcontracts encompassing NAVSEA Warfare Centers and Naval Operational and Intermediate Level Maintenance Commands. The Division will be responsible for the following:
  • Oversee the planning, scheduling, direction, and approval all work assigned to the operation and assure that quality products are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Direct and coordinate financial and budget activities to fund operations, maximize investments, and increase efficiency.
  • Responsible for Profit and Loss (P&L) for all prime and subcontracts under the MM portfolio.
  • Promote and existing customer relations through frequent communication.
  • Consult with customers to gain cooperation and acceptance of ideas and actions.
  • Develop, mentor, train and evaluate staff to maximize their career potential.
  • Direct and coordinate personnel management activities including performance management, recruiting, hiring, promotions, and terminations.
  • Support and assist in the development of marketing and business plans for targeted opportunities that fall within R&S capabilities of the Company.
  • Market and capture work to ensure the Company's Core Business Objectives and competitiveness in the marketplace is maintained.
  • Keep abreast of evolving technology and procedures, which may enhance the opportunities for future projects.
  • Work with the Business Development/Strategic Planning team to identify and pursue new customers, programs, and business opportunities.
  • Project a positive image to employees, customers, and similar industrial companies by ensuring a cost-efficient, quality product is produced in accordance with the customers' requirements.
  • Maintain a positive work environment through positive actions to affect morale, providing adequate opportunities for employee personal growth, and ensuring the program meets Company regulations and policies.


Qualifications:


  • Must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college in an Engineering or Business Discipline and at least 10 years of related experience
  • Must have 5+ years of managing a portfolio of contracts/task orders with an average annual run rate of $15M.
  • Direct experience in non-nuclear operation, maintenance, repair, design, test, and modernization (SHIPALT/SCD) of HM&E and Combat Systems on aircraft carriers and/or surface ships requiring detailed knowledge of technical specifications and standards. This includes knowledge of drawings, shipyard operations, Navy operations, NAVSEA instructions, WAF and Tagout requirements, and general AIT contractor knowledge.
  • Must have Demonstrated experience leading contracts and programs in support of one or more of the following areas:

    • Alteration Installation Teams
    • USN Surface Ship Modernization
    • CVN Modernization
    • Small boat and Craft Repair and operations


  • Must have Experience leading matrixed organization.
  • Must have Experience bidding and managing Firm Fixed Priced and T&M prime and subcontracts
  • Must have Knowledge of best practice maritime processes and support methodologies to meet Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) requirements.
  • Must have Working knowledge of USN modernization and AIT governing documents such as TS9090-310G NAVY MODERNIZATION PROGRAM MANAGEMENT AND OPERATIONS MANUAL


Desired Qualifications:


  • 10 years of experience supporting a portfolio consisting of Prime and Subcontracts with average revenue of 20M a year.is preferred.
  • 5 years of experience dealing with lifecycle management of US navy systems or equipment is preferred.
  • 2+ years of demonstrated experience leading TS/SCI contracts.is preferred.


Security Requirements:


  • The applicant must have an interim or fully adjudicated Secret Level Security Clearance to access military facilities and Naval installations.


Travel Requirements:


  • Occasional travel- less than 25%
  • If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Pay Range: $150,000 - $180,000 per year
