Lead the Machining Revolution - Join Us as CNC Machinist Supervisor

If you're a seasoned CNC operator with leadership chops looking to step into a high-responsibility role where your skills shape productivity, quality, and innovation-this is your opportunity. A forward-thinking precision manufacturing firm specializing in mission-critical components is searching for a CNC Machinist Supervisor (3rd Shift) who sets the standard in machining excellence and team leadership.

Why You'll Love This Role

This is not your typical operations position. You'll be working in a dynamic manufacturing environment where every part counts and every process matters. You'll enjoy direct impact on production results, close collaboration with engineering and operations, and the opportunity to elevate your career as a true shift leader. The organization values growth, measurable performance, and craftsmanship-making this a role for top-tier professionals ready to lead, innovate, and succeed.

What You'll Do

  • Operate CNC lathes and milling machines across multiple cells, including tool set-up, inserts, offsets, and deburring finished parts
  • Manufacture components precisely in accordance with engineering prints and GD&T specifications
  • Conduct quality inspections using micrometers, bore gauges, calipers, height stands and document production metrics
  • Lead corrective and preventive maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and maintain machine performance
  • Review production schedules, prioritize shift tasks, prepare materials and equipment for operations
  • Troubleshoot complex machining issues, identify root causes, and implement solutions for improved uptime
  • Provide hands-on supervision of CNC machinists/operators on 3rd shift, assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and ensuring adherence to quality and productivity goals
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives-develop new fixturing, tooling, and process enhancements to elevate throughput
  • Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and production planning to ensure seamless operations and cross-shift alignment
  • Uphold safety, quality, and compliance standards within the CNC environment and broader manufacturing facility

What You Bring

  • Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience operating and setting up CNC lathes and milling machines (horizontal & vertical)
  • At least 2 years of experience as a lead machinist or supervisor, preferably on 2nd or 3rd shift
  • Proficiency in CNC programming, both Mazatrol and G-code languages
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and GD&T
  • Skilled in precision measurement and inspection tools; knowledge of SPC and ISO quality systems
  • Proven leadership ability-train, coach, mentor, and guide machinists to meet performance and quality goals
  • Comfortable working autonomously during off-hours, making rapid decisions to keep production moving
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs and safely handle heavy machine parts or loads
  • Must be available to work 3rd shift (M-F, 11 pm-7 am) and train on 1st shift (7 am-3 pm) as required
  • This is a direct-hire, on-site role-candidates must be local and capable of commuting
  • Prior experience with tooling and project background preferred

Hours & Pay

  • Pay Range: $27.00 - $35.00 per hour (based on experience)
  • Shift: 3rd Shift, Monday - Friday, 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM
  • Training Shift: 1st Shift, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (for a temporary transitional period)
  • Employment Type: Direct Hire
